Lift on Palenica
A chairlift leading to Palenica Peak looks onto a magnificent panorama of the Tatra Mountains. Pieniny, the Beskid Sadecki and the whole of the town of Szczawnica are very popular among tourists. On the neighbouring Szafranówce Top, a 700-meter gravitational chute was built. It is open in summer and attracts both children and adults.
Hiking, cycling and horse riding
Szczawnica is a paradise for mountain excursion enthusiasts and people who enjoy close contact with nature. It is the starting point for numerous hiking trails, cycling routes and horse riding tracks. It leads to the highest peaks of Pieniny and Gorce as well as the nature sanctuaries such as Homole Gorge, the High Rocks, and to White Water sanctuary, which is full of picturesque rocks and rock steps that create numerous breakthroughs and waterfalls. For fans of horse riding, 'Rajd' stables offer horse rides and excursions, during which you can admire the beauty of the nature sanctuary.
Ski slopes
In winter, Szczawnica is an ideal place for snow hunters. A few ski slopes and excellent snow conditions provide opportunities for both downhill, cross-country skiing and snowboarding. Thanks to the unique microclimate and artificial snow making facilities, the ski season lasts for four months. Szczawnica is an ideal place for snowmobiling and horse sleigh riding.
Water Sports
Water sports enthusiasts, thanks to the fast flowing current of the Dunajec River, can test their skills by renting a kayak and slaloming down the rafting route.
